The 2009 Children’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, August 9th and the theme is “The Wild, Wild West”. Registration is the day of the parade in the Old Franklin School park area at 1pm, costume/float judging is at 1:30pm and the parade starts at 2pm at the corner of 6th and Idaho . The event is free to all children and is open to kids 16 and under. There are cash prizes for the best costumes and floats and also a bike and door prize raffle after the parade at South Park. Each child has a chance to win one of many bikes and door prizes.
- Children ages 16 and under can enter and participate in the parade for prizes.
- Parade participants are not required to use the theme to be awarded prizes.
- No bikes are allowed.
- No motorized/battery operated vehicles are allowed, except those carrying Celebrities – approved ahead of time.
- No parade entrants can advertise. Advertising is allowed at the end of the parade. Advertisers are not eligible for parade prizes.
